Free The Way

Free the Way is a Seaham-based charity, founded by a group of mothers and people with addiction problems, who help clients to establish a new way of life in recovery from addiction. It offers accommodation and programmes to help people out of the trap of dependence and supporting the transfer into independent living.

We have been helping them out with labour and support totalling £500 for updates to their computer systems.

Citizens Advice Sunderland

The recent riots in Sunderland led to a devastating attack on the Citizens Advice office, a vital resource for the community. On the night of the riots, the office was completely destroyed by fire, which not only caused significant property damage but also deeply affected the staff and the community they serve.

The aftermath of the attack has seen the community come together, with an online appeal quickly surpassing its fundraising target to aid repairs. LaneSystems has helped with the recovery by providing £1140 worth of labour to get systems back up and running.

If you’re able to provide help with supporting the recovery of this vital community service, please get in touch.

SDAIS

We have been helping Stockton & District Advice & Information Service (Citizens Advice Stockton) with a building move. This involved relocating and reinstalling all of their machines to a new site. Our team has invested time and planning to make sure the move wasn’t too disruptive, with Kevin overseeing the project. To aid with the transition we have donated a 48-port switch valued at £750.

SDAIS said: “Moving office is always a very challenging time; there is so much to plan and get things in order, not to mention the cost. As a Citizens Advice service we also had to make sure that our ‘down time’ was minimal as we have clients who need to access us every day for help and support. So the support from LaneSystems was invaluable; not just the financial benefit of their donation, but their help throughout the whole process - from early planning to final snagging - has been tremendous and enabled us to keep a service available to our clients during the whole time. Many thanks to all the team at Lane Systems”.

St Teresa’s Hospice

During April, we have donated £3550 in equipment and labour to St Teresa’s Hospice, a registered charity providing palliative and end-of-life care and support in South Durham & North Yorkshire, as part of an ongoing infrastructure project. This will help St. Teresa’s save on continuing costs of the running of their secure I.T. infrastructure.
